Tennis is a mental game and The Rafiki Tennis Match Journal can help you get rid of any negative thoughts or self doubt.
‘Tennis is a mental game. Everyone is fit, everyone hits great forehands and backhands’
Novak Djokovic
Before you beat your opponent, you have to win the battle with your mind and that starts before you even step on to the court. Most professional players put a lot of effort in to preparing their mind for the game they are about to play. They plan every detail of the match in their head - they leave nothing to chance. What defines a champion is the ability to thrive under pressure. Novak Djokovic doesn’t have the best forehand, serve or volley on tour (possibly the best backhand?), yet he still manages to win almost all of the matches he plays. Why? Because there is no other player who is as mentally prepared as he is.
‘Control the things you can control’
Sam Stosur
So how do you mentally prepare for a match?
There are a variety of things you can do to mentally prepare for your match and The Rafiki Tennis Match Journal can really help. Use the match planner to prepare. Decide what tactics you will use (depending on your opponent). Figure out your opponents strengths, weaknesses and come up with a game plan BEFORE you step out onto the court. Write down your key thoughts and keep repeating these to yourself as you play. Write down in the journal what you will wear during the match and what you need to bring in your bag on the day of the match.
If you do all of these things, you will be prepared to play BEFORE you step on the court.
Don’t forget to buy a Rafiki Tennis Match Journal. Use the journal to plan your match tactics so that you will win more tennis matches!
